Bottle from Ocado. Dark brown pour with a beige head. Nose is liquorice toffee, raisin, grapefruit, dark berries. Taste is liquorice toffee, dates, dark berries, light hit of bitter citrus. Mouth coating malty hoppy bitterness.

500ml bottle at home. Pours dark brown, almost cola-like pour with a large off white head. Dark fruit, caramel or toffee, some brown bread notes in the aroma. Flavour is dominated by the caramel or toffee notes but has some brown bread and dark fruit character as well. Easy drinker

On cask at Rose St Brewery, pours a clear copper with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out smooth, soft bready malt with only the tiniest of hop characters. Flavour is super clean but very timid, with soft bready malt, almost no bitterness. If you don't want to taste anything from your cask ales, this is pretty solid. I struggle to understand how this is the UK's top rated bitter. It's fine and certainly drinkable.
