Bottle, 22oz, kindly shared by bergstaden. 2018 vintage, 13% ABV. An oily, quite flat pour leaves a minimalistic beige head, just a rim of bubbles actually, over a slightly hazy brown body. Quite boozy, woody aroma with lots of brown sugar and dark dried fruits. Vanilla, roasted malts and a touch of coffee too. It's full-bodied, warming and smooth, with a very soft carbonation. Warm figs, prunes, brown sugar, wood, roasted malts, cocoa hints and a good dash of bourbon in the flavor. Lasting sweet finish with pretty evident booze and alcohol warmth. A very tasteful and complex beer, but a tad or two too boozy. 190927

Hazy pale golden with a white head - Fruity hop aroma - Malt body with a fruity hop flavour with some alcohol heat - The hops goes into the finish with some bitterness and alcohol heat - This was good

Golden with a pinkish tint and pinkish head - Rarpberry aroma - Tart raspberry flavour - The tart fruity raspberry flavour goes into the finish - This was nice

Can from Bine & Vine. Pours hazy, slightly dirty, gold with a creamy white head. Aroma is dank and fruity. I'm going with green melon and mango, but there's definitely more. Complex aroma for me. Med body or so. There's a tang suggesting either dank or hop burn or both. Lots of hop. Fairly dry. Not quite juicy. Bitter for sure. An eye opener! Good stuff.

650 ml bottle, as Rip Current Dangerous Undertow Belgian-style Abbey Ale, Bourbon barrel series, generously shared by bergstaden, many thanks! ABV is 13%. Dark brown colour, no head. Intense aroma of bourbon and oak, also notes of molasses. Lovely flavour of bourbon and oak again, medium sweet, not even a hint of fusel, very good. Warming mouthfeel. Excellent beer.

Pour is a murky honey color which is lighter on top and more murky at the bottom of the glass. Aroma is a mix of pine and melon hops. Flavor is honeydew melon, a little citrus and some maybe blueberry? Finish is thick and a bit hot. This is a nice and thick decently hopped NE IPA. Probably did not need to be 9% though.

25th March 2019, poured my own at the Barrel Republic, Oceanside California. I have never had the base beer, so don't know what effect the Scotch Oaking changed but this dark ruby brew with it's beige head had a good Whisky, woody aroma and taste alongside the usual sweet maltiness you'd expect from a Double Bock and I liked it.

Can from Beer Cats 2019 fukubukuro. Pours dark brown, not that much foam. Nose is showing off some roast malts, chocolate, toffee and also some coffee. Quite strong biter chocolate character in fact. Taste reveals more of that bitter chocolate in liquid form, good level of bitterness, smooth and roasty at the same time. Pretty good collection of flavour (also drinking this at maybe 14-15 degrees, so relatively warm). Coffee is there but well blended with chocolate and toffee character. Decent imperial porter if you ask me.

Can from Beec Cats 2019 fukubukuro. Pours creamy yellow-straw with a good fluffy white head. Nose has some herbal touch to it, biscuity and hinting some mild bitterness. Taste reveals more grainy biscuit character, good medium bitterness, slightly herbal. Finish has a bit of bitterness, long and lingering. Simple quaffable pilsner, not especially awesome but does the trick.
