Bottle. Picked up at Cotts a year ago. Not far off black. No head. Nose has burnt wood. Tinned prunes. Some very dark chocolate. A little metallic. Some sweet booze. Taste is boozy and sweet. Some woody bitterness. More of the metallic thing. Fairly smooth palate. Soft carbonation. Some alcohol. Burnt bitterness to finish. Disappointing.

Dull blond with no head. Aroma has citrus and the sharpness of a white wine. Flavour is a little tart but there’s a sweet element to it as well. Really dry and woody finish.

Copper colour with light haze and lasting head. Aroma and flavour have a good balance of fruity hops and sweet malt. Carbonation is a bit too low.

Black with thick creamy head. Aroma is very piney and resinous. The flavour is similar but with added roasted dark malt bitterness. Very flavoursome.

(Draught at Chez Moeder Lambic Original, Brussels, 20 May 2017) Golden amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, hoppy, spicy nose with citrus, orange peel, rye bread and slightly metallic hops. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, orange peel, crisp-bread, a touch of mint and a balanced citric bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and fresh pale ale. Nice one.
