Description

On tap @EurHop 2017 (Rome). Nera, intensa, impenetrabile, schiuma beige media. Al naso note vinose e di malti tostati, pelle, lieviti. In bocca una carattere mediamente vinoso, con tostato tenuto a bada, rotonda, complessa, gradevole. Corpo medio, carbonazione media. Ardita, ma interessantissima.

Thank you! Sampled draft @ Gollem. Black. Nose is totally different from what I expected massive umami, gravy soy sauce syrup. Taste is massively heavy on bitter spice, interesting, thick plastic, liquorice, umami, soy sauce, finish. Very thick umami gravy body. Intense, not fully my style with all the umami & soy sauce but I respected this one. Not sure why a 7.5 % black lager is qualified as a Dry Stout on here.

Tap. Clear golden color with pink highlight and a white head. Aroma is lacto, yoghurt, some spices like thyme, rosemary, nettles, berries. Taste is the same. Medium carbonation. The spices are not for me.

Sampled at Dopey's Elixir, Amsterdam. Clear lightlight amber and indeed "rose" color, small white head. Smell and taste both remind me of plants, green plants and a bit citrus with some floral hints and a bit sourish. Meh.

330ml bottle from La Moustache Blanche, Paris. Pours a murky brown, receding off-white head. Aroma of earthy beetroot, malt. Taste again has lots of beetroot with a moderate to low whisky sweetness, soft malt, fairly light-bodied. Feels like it needs a lot more body and layered malt to work with the barrel-ageing. Plus this beetroot element is extremely off-putting. Not a fan of this unfortunately.
