Vinous colour, some haze. The aroma has light notes from the syrah, a touch of barrel, and a hint of tartness. On the palate, has an interesting character, mellow tartness, some barrel, and a hint of grapes. Solid effort.

473ml can. Clear, dark brown colour with ruby shimmer and average to huge, initially dense, frothy, osteoporosing, tan head. Vinous fruity and tangy, yeasty spicy aroma, notes of blue grapes, morello, red wine, dark berries, a spicy touch of mahleb, black pepper, chocolately malty interludes, citrusy overtones of lime. Taste is sour, fruity, vinous fruity, tangy, notes of vinegar, morello, blue grapes, a touch of mahleb, black pepper, minimally sugary, malty basis with a touch of caramel and milk chocolate, subtle sweetness; tartness developes partly from purely acetatic to lactic, citric and fruit acidic, hints of lime peel. Dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, astringent palate, medium to coarse, prickly carbonation. Initially seemingly unbalanced and disharmonious if not lumpen, later more homogeneous, matched - vinous fruity, sadly somehow a tad sugary - decent.

473ml can. Hazy, dark yellow-ish, golden colour with average, frothy to creamy, slowly osteoporosing minimally lacing, white head. Leafy, slightly tropical and citrusy fruity, hoppy as well as oaty, malty aroma, Kveik-transformed hints of lemon, passion fruit, orange, orange peel melon; i.e. slightly earthy, leafy, less juicy character overall. Taste is citrusy fruity hoppy, notes of lemon, lemon peel, a touch of lime maybe, all a bit leafy, earthy, grave, charged, encumbered due to the Kveik yeast, accordingly a tad more substantial, leavened, insistent; minimally warming vestiges of alcohol in the finish, well hidden alcohol overall. Minimally alcohol thinned, oily-watery texture, smooth and soft palate, fine, soft, scattered carbonation. Kind of oxymorontic brew, comprises Southern hoppy easiness vs. Northern yeasty seriousness - not bad.

Clear pale yellow beer, no head. Aroma: oh boy, this is all diacetyl, that’s pretty darn bad, very buttery and dirty, don’t like this one little bit. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sour start, a bit fruity, acidic, sugary as well, weird, not very pleasant. Aftertaste: sourish, lemon flavoured candy, sugary touch, some diacetyl but significantly less than in the nose. Still can’t save this beer though.

Sample during Leuven Innovation '22, shared with Tderoeck and Untappd duo.
