Had this in bottle at Bakewell Folk Festival, Derbyshire Saturday 16th August 2014 Pours mid amber with white rim. Tastes like there are English hops in here, toffee and earthy hops, quite rustic. It’s fine but I’m not a huge fan, lacks a crispness and citrussy edge. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.2

Cask handpull at the Black Horse Barnet. Golden yellow coloured pour with a fleeting white head. Aroma is stale spicy leaf hop, hop veg matter and wort. Flavour is spicy hop, sweet base malt, somewhat under attenuated. Light honey. Palate is medium light and semi sweet with lowish carbonation. Lacklustre beer.

Bottle shared at chriso’s. Pours rich amber-brown with a frothy, beige head. Pleasant roasted malts in the nose, big milk chocolate, dark berries. Medium sweet flavor with some smokey meat, nips of earth, dried and leathery fruits, berries. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Nicely balanced to finish, pleasant dark malts, dried out fruits. Quite sound for what it is.
