Description
The brewery was founded by Phil and Cynthia “Scuttle” Bannan in 1996 with a 20 barrel system in the brew house, two 20 barrel fermenters and one 20 barrel bright tank. Since then our capacity has grown and we have broadened our product line to include more than 20 styles of hand-crafted ales and lagers.
After more than 20 years Scuttlebutt Brewing Company remains family owned and independent.
Since the beginning Scuttlebutt beers have been brewed in Everett with the Northwest’s finest ingredients – barley from Vancouver, Washington, hops from the Yakima Valley, a proprietary yeast from Odell, Oregon and some of the nation’s finest drinking water from the Spada Reservoir in the Cascade Mountains. Our beers are clean, balanced and have been brewed with care for over 17 years.

Really pretty bad. Jalapeno does not work very well with coriander - go figure. Golden amber pour with ok head. A little spicy. Lots of vegetable. Some florals still. Bottle.

12 oz bottle. Pours a very dark brown with cola like carbonation with no head and little white floaters - coconut? Aromas of toasted coconut, dark sugar, and sweet malts. Flavors of bitter coconut and sweetened coffee. Expecting more...

12 oz bottle from a six pack, from the grocery store. Aroma is coconut, gun metal, chocolate, vanilla. Pours a dark dark brown--nearly black--with a one finger beige head with decent retention; has white flecks of something floating around in the dark liquid which I hope is coconut. Taste is lightly sweet, finishing with a heavy herbal hop bitterness that's more welcome than I usually go for in a dark dessert-ish beer like this. The coffee doesn't really come through in aroma or flavor, unfortunately. Perfect velvety mouthfeel. Really nice concoction. Would've been even better with a stronger coffee presence, though.

Bottle: Pours close to black with a large tan head. chocolate......and almost a berry/cherry scent. Taste is mildly woody, chocolate malt. Good wooden/earthy bittering behind the sweetness..... Solid.

BOTTLE 12 OZ. Deep brown, beige head. Rich chocolate and maple syrup, vanilla caramel. Similar rate, just a bit thinner than the aroma suggest, moderate woody hoppy bitterness. Nice.

Slightly unclear medium golden colour, tall frothy white head, dissipates slowly with a cone in the middle, thin layer remains till the end, good lacing. Aroma pale malts, apricot, grapefruit, pine, yeast, hay. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, fruity, spicy notes. Lingering dry bittersweet aftertaste, chalky and husky notes. Quite nice actually, decent IPA.

22 oz bottle, courtesy of Matt. Thanks! Cloudy dark orange pour. I love raspberry, so the expectations are high from the start. 9% though, on a raspberry beer? We'll see. Quite a fragrant cherry raspberry, that isn't good, but I can't stop trying to figure out. Flavor is am odd candy raspberry and strawberry like flavor, but underneath an alcohol front. Nail remover, if I'd ever tasted it. Cool, sharp flavor. Not bad in small quantity, but I can't drink a lot of this.
