Bottle found at Stewart Brewing, a bit out of date. Doesn't seem to have affected it though. Dark brown pours with a steady beige head. Coffee and dark malt aromas. Nice coffee note on the taste. Clean finish.

Bottle – Pours a hazy orange yellow colour with a thick medium sized lasting near white head. A fresh fruity aroma, some spice. Light and dry in the mouth, not a lot of sweetness but an earthy ginger root flavour without the heat. A latent astringent hop bitterness that doesn’t really work with the ginger, lacks balance and not for me.

Cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester at 5.3%. Hazy gold with a slightly loose white head. Quite a lot of visible natural carbonation. Light aroma, some orange peel, some floral perfume, a little bit of lemongrass. Sweet taste just at first turns to an impressive bitter with a dollop of astringency in the finish. More light citrus peel in the aftertaste. Very decent if not world-changing, quite old school.
