Description
The Eagle Brewery was previously a Charles Wells brewery site and became part of Marston's (Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company) wider business in May 2017. The Eagle Brewery continued to brew many of the former Charles Wells brewery brands sold to Marston's including brands such as Bombardier, Courage, and McEwan's.
The site of the Eagle Brewery was sold by the Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company (CMBC) to S.A. Damm (Grupo Damm) in November 2022, and became Damm Eagle Brewery (this is listed separately). The Eagle brands remained with CMBC. Carlsberg purchased the remaining Marston share in 2024, and Carlsberg Britvic was formed in 2025. The Eagle beer brands then become fully owned by Carlsberg Britvic.
Certain brands are still produced by Carlsberg either at Northampton or Burton. These live brands will be moved to sit under Carlsberg's head office in Northampton.
This entry will remain for historic Eagle Bedford beers discontinued prior to or shortly after the sale of Eagle Brewery to Damm and not moved to Northampton or Burton.

Adding in my 300 Beers To Try ticks because I want to see how they impact my stats and some of them I will never see again. Will however re-rate them when practical. Chemical but nice enough.

Lovely pale gold with a creamy white head, and a sweet, malty aroma with some floral notes. Served in great condition, the mouthfeel is smooth and the taste is initially biscuit malt, progressing to a nice bitter hop finish. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Young's Bitter (3.7%) on 08 Jun 2014 at 13:15 - Score: Appearance - 7 | Aroma - 6.5 | Flavor - 6.5 | Texture - 7 | Overall - 6.5. Original review text: Moderately malty and bitter brown beer, smooth and just a little bit creamy.

Deep amber pour, small white head. Very malty aroma with soft roasted notes. Taste is also very malty, strong body, with a little citrus sourness. Low carbonation and mild bitterness, a slight dry finish. Despite the body there is not much going on here flavour wise. I found it a little boring but perfectly pleasant and drinkable.

0.5 l bottle from Vrutak, Zagreb. Shared with little Dina. Clear amber, small off-white head. Soft fruity aroma, red fruit, dried fruit. Some toast, some alcohol. There is a herbal hint of hops in the back. Medium body, moderate carbonation, quite drinkable. Slightly bland, malts, toast, some fruit. Light finish with some alcohol present. Moderate bitterness nicely present. Drinkable for a strong ale but not particularly rich.

0.5 nitro can. Fiatalos lila fehér dobozban egy nitrogén golyóról egy puding sűrűségű fekete sör bugyog elő. A színe csodás fekete, a kitöltés maga egy élmény ahogy képződik a szép krémes egyujjnyi hab. Csodaszép. Illata mint egy klasszikus fekete eszpresszó csokival. Az íze szintén. Jóval krémesebb a többi hasonló stoutnál. De legalább annyira kávés. A krémes hab mindvégig ott van. Kevés szénsav, tényleg jó élemény. Különleges és finom! Ajánlom a stílus kedvelőinek!
***
In a youthful purple white box, a pudding of density black beer bursts out of a nitrogen ball. The color is wonderful black, the filling itself is an experience as it forms a beautiful creamy one-finger foam. Beautiful. It smells like a classic black espresso with chocolate. The taste too. Much creamier than other similar stouts. But at least so much coffee. The creamy foam is there all the time. Low carbon, really good experience. Special and delicious! I recommend it to fans of style!

Bottle via Lidl SK. Medium body, medium carbonation. Really evocative of SK macro lagers. Slightly metallic and oxidized and otherwise nothing but a bitter water. Will get the job done , but that is about it.

275ml Bottle from Home & Bargains – cheap ! Caramel dominates the nose, but also a hint of smokiness. Pours a mid-amber orange-brown with a small transient off-white head. More malts and hops when in the mouth plus a little spiciness. A sweet finish like barley-sugar. Reasonable, but I was expecting something more distinctive.
