500 ml bottle. Pours clear amber with a small creamy light beige head. Aroma of bread, fruit, caramel, nuts. Taste follows nose, with some pepper and herbal notes. Finish is thin. Not bad.

33cl bottle. Pours clear dark amber with a light beige head. Aroma of sweet malt, toffee, caramel. Taste follows nose. Cloying. Maybe some butterscotch. Artificial flavoring? Not very good.

Bottle (thanks marduk). Pours dark amber-brown. Aroma is sweet, caramel, toffee, spices, malt. Flavor is sweet and bitter, malt, toffee, candy, watery. Body is quite thin. Overall: drinkable.

From cask at Pie & Ale, Manchester, 29.11.17. Clear amber golden. Dense and persistent head and lacing. Moderate aroma, with pale malt and the finest of English hops. Supoerb taste of pale malt, English hops, succade and a small hint of caramel. Smooth mouthfeel. An excellent bitter with superb quaffability!

Cask at White Star. Pours a clear gold with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a combination of earthy grains and bread with a hint of nuttiness underlying. Flavor is full of earthy grain some bread backing.

Cask at the Lord Byron Inn, Cambridge. Poured clear bright pale amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, hop, light citrus and flowers. Moderate sweetness, quite light bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, soft to fine carbonation. Much better from cask than bottled.
