Description
The organic brewing project of Gert Jordens, official since 2010 but active as a home brewer since 1999. Originally the beers were made at the Proefbrouwerij but production moved to Anders (and sometimes Strubbe) in 2013. One of the very few Belgian brewing companies which produce only organic beers; hops are exclusively sourced from Joris Cambie's organic hop farm in Poperinge. Exports 22% of its production, primarily to the Netherlands.

Bottle. Courtesy of Papsoe. It pours a slightly unclear body, golden in color and with a dense, off-white head of moderate size. The aroma has a pleasant peppery touch, it’s citrusy, peachy fruity with yeast and some pale malts. The flavor is quite sweet, would like it dryer. The spiced touch from the aroma is missing, but the fruity sweetness is present. Some faint notes of alcohol gives a little warmth, it’s sweet and pleasantly carbonated. A rather generic beer, but not bad. Would like it more pronounced. 101027

(bottle, 33cl) Slightly hazy, pale golden coloured effervescent hue with a blond and tall foamy head. Slightly yeasty, citrus-fruity and flowery aroma with spicy notes of coriander and white pepper. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a lively carbonation. Pale malty, spicy and yeasty taste with lighter fruity notes; sweet-bitter, spicy and slightly alcoholic finish. Not that rounded. 02.I.11

Small white head over orange-tinted old golden beer. Sweetish nose, white candi sugar, dried herbs, smells as a sweet version of TUC-cookies. Peppery, spicy pale malts. Reasonably good integration - the ingredients’ list had me kinda worried. Dry finish, relieved by the spritzy carbonation. Deceptively light body - dangerous, this one. Definitely a good one - if certainly not my favourite "style".

18/10/2010 - 75cl bottle @ home

Note: the beer had been aged for 6 months

Pours a pretty clear darkbrown beer, beige creamy and adhesive head. Aroma holds caramel, chocolate, alcohol, dried fruits. MF is ok, nice carbon, full body (due to aging?). Taste has caramel, mocha, red berries, roasted malts. Aftertaste more caramel and roasted malts with some spices.

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgium, 01.10.10 consumed at home 03.10.10. Pours puddle brown with off-white head. The aroma is malty but also a little meaty. Nice soft mouthfeel, med’ carbonation. Despite being 7% it’s a touch thin I feel reminding me of a fairly ordinary British Mild but on steroids, bit caramelly, but there is some oomphh.. 750 c&c shared by Marcus. Garlic? Pours hazy gold witha foamy off-wite head. Aromas of ripe yellow fruit, kandi and some yeast/spice. Med. body with foamy carbonation. Barely a hint of garlic, though somewhat peppery, so that might be it. Not bad at all.
