Bottle sample at a tasting at troubles' place. Thanks Lior D. Hazy yellow-golden. Vegetables, some spiciness, a bit floral, sweetish, a bit of candy, bitter finish, medium-bodied. Not so pleasant.

Tap at Bungalow. Black, oily, almost flat with a touch of lace. Nose is rum, molasses, chocolate, a bit of coffee. Rather tart flavor, seems some secondary fermentation with brett and/or lacto may have happened in the barrel. Lots of chocolate syrup, some coffee, grass, the hop is still there. Also grape, cherry, soy sauce. Soft and silky, but lighter than expected. Bitter, roasty and herbal hoppy finish. This was not what I expected but I enjoyed it immensely and would have even gone for another pint if I had time.

Looking at the other reviews, it seems I am the contrarian as I really liked this one. Maybe it just needed time to meld or I got a bottle from a good batch, I don't know...
This year’s Sankt Gallen Brewery Valentine’s variant is the: Annin Chocolate Stout 6%
Inky black with a tan verging on rusty head of foam that is pillowy with impressive staying power. The aroma is a bit nutty, a bit nutty and full of toasty dark chocolate. It smells great. Medium to light bodied and dry, the taste is nutty and lightly roasty. Quite easy drinking, after the great nose I was expecting something with a bit more oomph but this is still better than any of Sankt Gallen’s variants from the last 3-4 years.

Bottle. Lovely black with a huge brown head. Roasted malty nose, chocolate, vegetables, nuts, cherry, annin dofu. Weird. Rather strong medicinal taste, chocolate, roasted nuts, strange flavor of the sweet nutty tofu. Bad idea.
