A lovely light amber color, opens up to a bouquet of critusy hops (cascade) and caramel malt. The body shows a good mingling of hops and malt and as the beer warms up apples, oranges and sherry provide the back bone that mixes in with sweet caramel malty overtones. Finishes dry like a good brute. Very refined. However, I think Mr. Ishii took some recipes with him from Stone. Malt profile quiet similar to Stone AB. This could easily pass for a Stone pale ale IMO. A definete must if visting Japan. 4.0 and that is my rating from 2003. deep amber color. Apricot and apples in the nose. Modest hoppiness. Very drinkable approachable APA.
