33 cl. bottle @ home, gift from my parents. Hazy amber with a dense white head. Malty bready aroma with some orange notes. bittersweet taste and very lively carbonation. Not spectacular or extreme in any way but very well executed and balanced.

Thnx to phille. Pours unclear blonde, huge white head. Smell is light hops, fresh citrus, light. Taste is malty , with a touch of honey-like funk, though not sweet. Mild bitterness, in an elegant way. Very Sharp , and too much carbo. Agreeable body. Taste has a bit of hardboard, but perhaps thats because it is a few months old. Reshreshing

Bottled 750ml. -from Mundoaka street food restaurant Zagreb, shared with Marko. Deep brown coloured, medium ized pale beige head, sourish cabbage in the nose...wtf??? Slight acidic roasty malt, some caramel and hops with light chicory notes in the finish. Not bad but really boring brew.

Bottled 750ml. -from Mundoaka street food restaurant Zagreb, shared with Marko. Nice orange/golden coloured, small to medium sized off-white head, dry fruity nose. Slight malty, yeasty and mild fruity with touch of hops in rather short finish. Nothing special here.

Bottled 750ml. -from Mundoaka street food restaurant Zagreb, shared with Marko. Cloudy yellow/orange coloured, medium sized white head, pleasant yeasty and fruity nose. Malty, yeasty, fruity and mild hoppy with touch of spicess in the finish. Pretty strong carbonation. I just wonder how Balate beer(s) ended here in Zagreb.

0.75l at Mundoaka, Zagreb. Shared, like all the others with Ogi & Maja. Not entirely sure about the style, there are argument for most "ordinary" black styles... Blackish very dark amber-brown body with a small, lasting tan head. Initially served way, way too cold, it actually gave off notes reminiscent of cabbage, which were thankfully gone soon enough as it warmed. Soon enough dark malts, roasty notes, get sweets, with notes of raisins, even dry, carrying notes of caramel. Thin, dry roasty taste, that later on, as it warmed, got some ok aromatics going on & ok enough bitterness, maybe even hoppy notes, but it’s just too thin, like all their other beers. Oh well, it’s a decent beer overall. update: on tap, it's nicely coffeeish and nutty, creamy and soft. Upping the score.
