Brewing bold beers from our hilltop in Hebden Bridge and pouring punchy pints from our very own taprooms. We’re resolutely in the business of setting standards, not following trends.

Can from Havnens Vin Og Tobakshus. Pours cloudy deep red with large white head. Aroma is intense sour cherry, redcurrant, blackcurrant, vinegar, and hints of yeast. Taste is light to medium sweet, faint bitter, and medium to very acidic. Body is oily with medium carbonation. Finish is long and balanced sweet and acidic with notes of sour cherry, redcurrant, blackcurrant and vinegar. Appearance: +1 for the nice label.

Draught keg at Tønne, Leicester. Light gold and clear with a little visible carbonation and some uneven white head. Grainy aroma, a little bit spicy. Some cardboard, traces of lemon. Bittersweet in the mouth, a nice balance with some citrus bitterness in the long finish. Decent carbonation buoys up the body. Passable.

440ml can at tasting.
The beer poured near black in color.
Surely has some orange in the otherwise light roasted malty aroma. Light to medium bodies, sweet with some zesty notes as well.

MCR July Specials Beer#26. My only Manchester drinking day this month so a sweep of the one-offs. Clear pale golden coloured brew, pretty much a standard lager, a little above the macro sort, clean and crisp, but nothing overly remarkable. Standard special with the added summer football as the excuse. Third final afterthought and last of the day.

MCR July Specials Beer#25. My only Manchester drinking day this month so a sweep of the one-offs. Not cleary a white stout from its clear golden appearance, bit definitely so from its taste. Sweet with a syrup in both aroma and taste, white chocolate becomes more prevalent after this, and is flavoursome, but also rich. Second afterthought after the train home, and a good one.

MCR July Specials Beer#24. My only Manchester drinking day this month so a sweep of the one-offs. A golden coloured afterthought, which is very easy, and it needed to be after a very full day of mostly thirds, it's a fruity experience, never going to be the fullest of bodies but there's enough here in this three percenter.
