Third of a 330cl can on 5th Feb 2016: in De Bierboom during the 4th International Beer Exchange Evening. Nice! Black bodied (or very dark brown), on top a creamy head in colour and texture. How do you like your chocolate, if it is in liquid form you’ve found your beer heaven. Not a lot could get through the malty chocolate nose and taste of this very easy drinking Chocolate Stout.

Third of a 330cl can on 5th Feb 2016: in De Bierboom during the 4th International Beer Exchange Evening. My second beer from the huge selection brought by everyone in the room. As the style might indicate, this was a black bodied beer, the head a full and lasting beige covering. Slight citrus leanings in the nose and taste with a malty backbone that prevented the citrusy hops running away with the taste and aroma by adding a chocolate trace to everything..

Third of a 330cl can on 5th Feb 2016: in De Bierboom during the 4th International Beer Exchange Evening. Slight haze to the orange pour, wispy top. Tropical fruits rule the nose, they compliment the semi-sweet malt background and the more bitter hop front. A good start to an awesome evening.

Can from St Albans beer shop, St Albans, Herts. A hazy golden yellow coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, pine, grapefruit aroma. Tastes the same, hoppy, pine, grapefruit, mango. Bloody nice SIPA.

Can. Little Leeds Beer House. Copper red. Soft haze. Filmy, blotchy, off white, sticky head. Nose has fruity, toffee malts. Candied fruit hop. Tinned pineapple. Bit of a curious, metallic thing. Taste is sweet, turning juicy bitter. Some dryness. Medium body. Earthy bitter finish. Decent. Didn’t like the metallic thing, though.

Can at home, 7th February16. Pours clean and clear, aroma is aromatic and citrus hops. Taste is fresh, citrus, some floral hops and a strong grainy malt backbone. Nice APA

Cask @ Port Street Beer House, Manchester. Slightly hazed amber coloured ale with a small frothy head. Has a slightly thin tasting texture, but is extremely heavy with its tropical fruitiness in terms of its taste. Its aroma is similar but a little less stated and there’s a light bitter finish.

330ml can from Cornelius. Pours dark red brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of pine, citrus, light roast. Taste is light chocolate orange. Bitter finish.

330ml can from Bier Huis. Black brown colour, beige foam head leaving lacing and aroma of smokey, roast malt and tangy citrus hops. Flavour is roasted malt, ash, coffee, dark chocolate with some hoppy grapefuit & pine bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry roast earthy bitter finish. Nicely balanced, very drinkable black IPA.
