Cask (gravity) at Standing Order, Derby – though I have drunk it before. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small frothy cream head. Dark fruits and roast malts in the aroma, plus some spicy hints. In the mouth it is sweet with flavours of coriander (mainly), chocolate, roasted malts and liquorice. Traces of dark fruits and aniseed as well. Sweetness remains in the finish. This is superb !

[Cask at the Claude du Vall (JDW), Camberley.] A pale amber pour with a tight white head; grainy aroma; sweet grainy taste; and a grassy bitterness. More like a real lager than a Amber Ale.
