Place gold. Smells just like sweet homey and a little candy. Oily mouthfeel. Sweetness lingering after finish. Honey comb, floral roses and wood.

Bottle courtesy of AdamJackson. Pours clear deep golden leaving some slick trace rather than lacing on the glass. Smell is sweet with dark honey, caramel, vanilla, charred wood and alcohol. Taste is sweet, tiny sour and boozy with honey, lemon juice, moist oak, alcohol and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is round, tiny sticky sweet, tiny tart, heavy boozy and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and tiny sour with honey, caramel, lemon juice and alcohol. Solid mead... Bit too boozy... --- Beer merged from original tick of Cuvée De La Diable on 07 May 2015 at 15:57 - Score: 7

Purchased this a long time ago when I met the producer at Dieu du Ciel (where his product was sold). We talked all night and I bought this in a wooden box with another one of his mead. Thicker gold liquid with the aromas of sweet honey, pears, apples and hints of vanilla. The taste is sweet again, but not too much to ruin a good desert wine. The same fruits found in the nose are present as well, and balance well the mouthfeel. A beautiful mead (but better when fresh... as I remember that night we had some at the pub).

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Marked June 2008. Pours a clear gold, with huge sticky legs from each swirl. Aroma is awesome, oaky, honey, perfume, and alcohol. Taste is sweet, vanilla, wildflowers, sweet oak and honey. Sweet, viscous, syrupy, with a bit of alcohol to complement the flavors. Awesome!
