Description
BridgePort produces a variety of international style ales, including IPA. BridgePort’s ales are naturally conditioned in the bottle, keg, or cask from which they are served - they’re never force carbonated. The natural conditioning creates ale that is smooth, naturally carbonated, and full of flavor.

Today, BridgePort Brewing Company is one of the top specialty brewers in the state of Oregon. As BridgePort Brewing grew in popularity, it also grew in its brewing capacity from its 600-barrel beginnings to over 100,000 barrels per year. Distribution has grown from Portland to 18 states, and the brewery’s emphasis on producing quality, innovative ales has provided it with an international following and numerous awards.

Very dark brown to purple color. Nose is really nice with a sort of plum and wheat nose and hints of rye but it’s not easy to detect in aroma. Taste is interesting. There’s a lot of maltiness in this beer for a 7.5% ale. Bitter like a baryleywine and the IBUs are totally unforgiving. Really wears on the palate and hard to finish more than 4 ounces.

Sample at Ale Yeah! Caramel colored pour, with a big, bubbly, beige head. The aroma is earthy hops, light cinnamon, cardamom, and sourdough. The flavor is sweet, and fairly bitter. Medium body, chalky, with a pretty clean finish. Overall, this is weakly spiced beer, and overly hopped.

bottled. Salmon-pink-orange color, cloudy, with lace. big fruity nose, raspberry and other berries, light lemon and some thinner. Lemon and berry flavor, very low sourness, slightly tart, a bit watery. Alcohol present. Nice but not special.

Enjoyed on tap at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago, IL prior to seeing the band Surfer Blood. I didn’t take tasting notes while enjoying this, but I remember this being a lightly spiced, slightly malty ale that went down nice and easy. Definite caramel notes, just a decent brew.

Amber color, pink hue. Blueberries and strawberries in the nose. Very fruity. Very carbonated fruity mouth. Very little depth beyond the fruit. Fairly boozy for the strength. Pretty boring.

Golden colour, white head. Aroma of malts, honey, caramel, touch of hops. Light bitter flavour, malts, light grapefruit. Bitter finish, honey, hops, malts and a hint of coffee. Feels like this one is somewhat aged, but unfortunately no bottling or Best Before date can be found on the bottle.
(From 66cL bottle shared @ decadent symmetry tasting, Wilrijk. With thanks to my friend Pasmans for bringing the bottle for me)

Bottle from the grocery store. Pours a clear yellow color with a medium white head. A big pils malt nose. The flavor is sweet citrus hops, some lighter bread and honey, medium bitterness. A smooth IPL and quite nice. Light orange peel and bitterness throughout. Good. Very drinkable.

This one’s a conundrum. Looks great, smells funky (somebody mentioned ethanol), taste is both strong malt and hops. The smell is a little off-putting, and the taste is a little getting used to, but I can sense what the brewer was trying to do. Might be better on tap...decent

Bottle, 4% About 510 yen from Sugaya. A clear deep gold with a very mouthwatering lemon, yuzu & spice aroma. A great full bodied mouthfeel for a beer that goes down smooth. Sweet & fruity - citrus, lemongrass, yuzu. It is really bang on what the label claims. A well executed beer & as I a big yuzu fan really nice. Perfect on a hot sunny summer day...
