Bomber from Binny’s, March 2011. Yep, should’ve popped this long ago. Smell after pouring shows a bit of phenoll from far away, but gives up a nice big hoppy nose when held closer. No alcohol in the nose at the start. Clear orange-ish amber body, rocky head. Lots of lace in the glass after the foam subsides. Happy hop taste of citrus—orange juice, in fact—with backing of pine and resin. malts are suitably sticky, but I dunno. The mouthfeel is a little bit thin to be holding up this hop load. Other IIPA’s I’ve had were very warming and cozy, even with a buttload of hops.

aclear orange, small white head. herbal hoppy aroma, herbal bitter. flavor is flowery, hoppy bitter ,pine, fruity note. malts quite faint.

Bottled. An amber beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of grapefruits, wood, peaches, hops, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, grapefruits, alcohol, malt, and a bit of wood, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Doodler. Clear golden with an off-white head leaving a discreet lacework. Thick juicy and greasy hops in the nose. Thick body with quite some fruit and again heavy and citrusy aroma hops. Bitter finish. Not the most sophisticated DIPA, but ok. 120412

Pours pretty black with a foamy beige head. Aroma is faint and seems floral. Med body. Flavor starts hoppy, move to dark roasted malt. Finishes towards grapefruit rind. It’s not a heavy beer, but it has a lot of hop.

Bottle. Dark brown beer with a brown head. Chocolate and malt aroma with light vanilla. Dark malt and light whiskey flavor with light vanilla. Medium bodied. Dark malt and light whiskey notes linger with light earthiness and light oak.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown and ruby hue with small tan head. The aroma is roast and oak. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet malt chocolate and bitter finish. Easy to drink a good Imperial porter from Bridgeport.

Cola-looking pour - aroma of mint, chocolate, gelatin, roast - a little weird - flavor is much the same - an odd combination of mint, dry, bitter chocolate, gelatin, strong mineral notes, some odd fruity character on the tail end - finishes quite bitter, with strong, lingering calcium/limestone notes - weird effing beer.

Bottle from a trade with Rustyham. Pours dark brown/black color with tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, bourbon, vanilla, chocolate and oak. Roasted malt flavor with some bourbon and vinous notes. Chocolaty and slightly ashy. Medium body with average carbonation. Thanks Nick.

From the 3/2012 3R6P tasting. +++Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky yellow-apricot color with a small white head that left no lacing. The aroma was tangy sugar, sweettart candies, light fruity hops and chalk. The flavor was tart, dryish and chalky with notes of Sweettart candies and faint fruity hops. The finish was medium length dry chalk and Sweettart candies. Disappointing.
