Description
BridgePort produces a variety of international style ales, including IPA. BridgePort’s ales are naturally conditioned in the bottle, keg, or cask from which they are served - they’re never force carbonated. The natural conditioning creates ale that is smooth, naturally carbonated, and full of flavor.

Today, BridgePort Brewing Company is one of the top specialty brewers in the state of Oregon. As BridgePort Brewing grew in popularity, it also grew in its brewing capacity from its 600-barrel beginnings to over 100,000 barrels per year. Distribution has grown from Portland to 18 states, and the brewery’s emphasis on producing quality, innovative ales has provided it with an international following and numerous awards.

Light hoppy aroma, backed by some malt. Light gold color with a head that tries to lace. Starts with carbonation bite, followed by some light malt, balanced by some light hop. Medium mouthfeel. A light APA, but the bitter finish is appropriate for the type.

Not bad. This is very sweet for an ESB, sweet malt rather than bitter malt. Considerable hop presence for the style. Its not bad, but too sweet.

Bottle: Pours a dark brown with a large beig head. Moderate lacing. Nose of coffee and malt, some roastiness. Taste is roasted malt and a cocoa sweetness, the coffee is less prevalent here. A bittersweet baker’s chocolate lingers in the finish. Soft and creamy mouthful.

Pours a deep orange with a pillowy off white head. Aroma is very pleasent. Citrus, pine, and floral hop notes. Mouth is a little thin and watery. Flavor is mild for an IPA. Grapefruit and some lemon hops as well as a nice malt background. Finishes with a real mellow bitterness. This could be a very good IPA if the flavor was pumped up a couple notches, but as it stands it’s middle of the road.

Great looking beer. brown with tannish head and some lacing. Aroma of malt and metal. Light body, less than you’d expect of a good brown, malt with a little caramel. Thin hoppish finish

Bottle: A transparent brown color in the medium depth, small bubbly tan beige head. Nose is bitters with hints of malt. Tasted more bitter and malty with hints of metal. Maybe a hint of caramel. Thin bodied and realtively light on taste.

Bottle Pours a clear medium chestnut color with a small wuick light tan head. Spotty lacing. Aroma is a plain slightly nutty roasted malt with the flavor being similar. Only a hint of hops and even though that was somewhat expected, it still left me wishing for a little more...of everything. Softly carbonated, light and quite thin on the pallate. Quaffable I suppose but not very interesting.

Draught at Richmond Arms, Houston
Beautiful amber color. Delicate hoppy aroma. Good flavor, not extreme, malt with fruity hops. Refreshing. Playing darts, in Houston, on Christmas night… strange experience.

Black color. Very nice aroma of roasted malt, caramel, wet cardboard, light cheese. Good mouthfeel, with a good mix of caramel, roasted malt, molasses and light liquorice. Very good Stout.
