On tap at Black Squirrel in DC. Pours a murky black with some off white head. Solid nose, malty and bready, toast, bread crust, then the hops kick in with pine, soap and dried citrus peel. Flavor is extremely well balanced, chewy malt and roasted grains, toast, bread crust, light dark chocolate, pine, soap, orange. Dry finish. Really easy to drink.

The taste is toffee, anise, dark fruits, chocolate, vanilla, earthy and citrus hops. Medium bodied, low carbonation, mild lingering bitterness, mild heat.
