Tap, nitro pour. Hazy medium gold-copper with a nitro head. Nose of pine, oranges, grapefruit. Sweet and malty, apricots, a bit stale. Nitro really doesn’t work.

Clear gold with a generous white head. The aroma is fruity, some citrus, orange but no grapefruit or lemon. The flavor is lightly sweet and fruity. No real stand out orange flavor. some dryness in the finish, but again, no real hop flavors coming out. OK, but could use a bit more orange and more hops.

Pale clear. Thin head. Smell is boozy volatile IPA perfume, no BO here. Typical tasting IPA but perhaps, just perhaps, I taste a little citrus in there? And again, perhaps if I didn’t look at the label I would not have tasted it? Must be mental. I must say, it does have more co2 than yer typical mouth coating eye-pah. Typical rude nasty ubiquitous IPA bullshit. However, if you like IPA, go tick this one off, you may like it.

Sampled @ GBBF Day 2. A bit hazy orange color, small off-white head. Aroma is quite sweet, sweet fruit mix. Taste is also pretty sweet, sweet ripe fruity hops, not a lot of bitterness. Hmm not a big fan of this one.

Cask at GBBF 2016. It pours sort of hazy deep red brown with minimal head. The aroma is toasted nut, earthy roast, dried fruit, fruit cake, malt loaf, wood and a touch of spice. The taste is smooth, mellow, wood, mild caramel, leather, spice, varnish and old brown bread with a dry, woody finish. Light - medium body and soft carbonation. Decent go at a trad UK cask ale, perhaps lacks a touch of condition.

Cask gravity at GBBF 2016. Clwar orange amber colour no head. Some biscuit. Not much hop. Digestive biscuit. A northern light mild. Fine. Not much condition.

Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours translucent gold with a white head. Aroma of yeast with hints of spice and perhaps banana. Med body or so. Flavor is malt and lightly spicy yeast. Banana is faint, if at all. It’s not really bitter, and it’s not really dry, but there’s a strong flavor that must be yeast related. Maybe I am finally getting some banana. There’s an almost astringent character. There are so many ways tripel seems to get made that I am not sure how close it is to the "ideal" style, but suspect it’s not far off.
