Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of bluebetty. Pours thick and syrupy amber with a slight haze and a small off-white head. Very sweet caramel aroma, honeyish. Solid body, lowish carbonation, very sweet caramel, coconut?, Sherry notes and a whiff of wood. Warming alcohol finish with hardly any hops. Pleasant English-style Barley wine if somewhat to the sweet side. 140212

Bottle, as Super Rusty 7.8%ABV. About 5C, as recommended. Dark amber with less than a coat of beige head that soon vanishes entirely. Aroma of caramel, banana, plums. Somewhat syrupy mouthfeel lightened by gentle carbonation. Very sweet - like most of 2 Brothers beers - with caramel, banana and stewed fruit, but dries out quite a bit towards the end with spices and quite a bit of bitterness. And the finish makes the beer for me. Odd but pretty good.

Pours very dark brown with a small fading head.Nose shows lots of sweet malt, with chocolate, hazelnut and vanilla notes. Reminiscent of pralines and chocolate syrup.Loads more nutty notes as flavours along with chocolate and roasted coffee. Finishes on an cloyingly sweet bready note.Carbonation is a bit too high.

Tap at GABS. Sweet - cooked mandarin juice, with toffees, light herbal bitterness creeping in a the end. Convincing enough. Bottle. Dark amber with a coat of light beige head. Smells of toffee, raisins, oranges, vanilla, plums, almond essence. Syrupy and quite boozy. Very sweet with those fruits, spices and toffee. A little Violet Crumble. Some hard spices and herbs at the end as bitterness reins in the sweetness. Pretty impressive and Iβd guess will improve for 2-3 years at least.

Pours deep ruby tinged copper with a lasting head.Nose shows a rich mix of hops and malt. Big piney, resinous, earthy and minty notes from the hops, while the malt adds prominent caramel, nutty and toasty characters. Very nice!Very similar hop profile as flavours, but in the way of malt only the nutty characters continue to stand out. Really needs more caramel to flesh it out.Body feels a little watery.

Pours light copper wtih a quickly fading head.Nose shows lovely nutty malt in abundance! Very potent! Not much else though...Nutty malt continues as a flavours alongside a little caramel. Pretty light on after that though. Need more malt, the nutty malt alone gets a bit boring.Soft carbonation could be higher.

Bottle, 4C. Clear dark amber, less than a coat of off white head. Modest aroma of caramel, plums, raisins, grass. Taste has firm malt with just caught caramel, hints of fruit, plain chocolate and a drying hop presence at the end that doesnβt quite register as bitterness. As cold as itβs recommended itβs not very sweet at all and the malt flavours are varied and harmonious.

Bottle. Almost still clear amber beneath a cm of off-white head. Aroma is toffee and grass. Taste is rich caramel, some nuts with just a hint of grass struggling at the end that limits the sweetness. Pretty good in style that rarely appeals to me.

From a 330ml bottle on 26/1/2011. Pours a dark reddish brown. The aroma is quite chocolatey and malty, with some dough thrown in. The palate is extremely creamy and smooth. The flavour is primarily sweet milk chocolate, with just a hint of bitterness to provide a contrast. Quite interesting and reasonably enjoyable, but it would be better if it was more assertive at the end.

Pours dark brown with a tiny head.Nose shows loads of chocolate, banana, golden syrup, coffee and creme brulee. Very sweet... incredibly so. Like a chocolate/coffee liqueur.Similar flavours but more roasty character rather than just an overload of syrupy sweetness. Too much alcohol shows though.Body seems a little watery for these flavours.
