Scåssenes (previously Ecaussinnes)
Commercial Brewery in Ecaussinnes, Hainaut, Belgium 🇧🇪
Established in 1999
In 2020 after years of setbacks (the existing installations of the brewery turned out to be too old or too large; while co-investor Michel Simon left the firm) a new manager was appointed to put things in order. Brewmaster Jerôme, a medical biologist, keeps an eye on the fully automated brewing process.

Pours dark amberbrown, small white head is consistant. Smell is awefull, chemically sweet. and pure poepegattekes ( belgian candy that usually is only common in chemical cherrie beers ) Taste is sweet, and again poepegattekes, with a touch of different aspect ( the chemical raspberrie flavor ) yes, overall this beer contains more sugar than my sugarjar, and the taste itself is not too nice as well. No ’amour’ for this beer, i’m afraid. Also, WHERE THE HELL is the sour aspect mentionned in the deScription ? You liars....

Bottle. No idea where it came from but probably Deanso :-) Poured a hazy straw colour with a big frothy white head and lots of sediment and bubbles. The aroma is rich sweet malt, light floral. The flavour is massive sweet with a rich sweet fruity malt palate and a lingering sweet bubbly mouthfeel. Light bodied with lively carbonation. Did not get the Speculaas at all. Sweet, bubbly and truly awful! Had a couple of sips and poured the rest.

(bottle, 37.5cl) Almost clear, golden colour with a ruby shine and a short and slightly off-white foamy head. Distinctively raspberry-fruity aroma, slightly acidic with a mildly malty background. Sweet and delicately sour flavour, light to medium bodied with a tame carbonation. Soft malt character with present raspberry flavours, getting slightly sticky and syrupy; finishes sweet and delicately sour-fruity and tart. 15.IX.15

0,33L bottle (from beerExpress, Tallinn). Pours amber with off-white head. The head stays. Aroma is sweet, malt, fruits. Flavor is sweet, chocolate cookies, malt, spices, fruits. Alcohol is rather well covered. Overall: well, it tastes like cookies...

Pours clear blonde, small white head fades to 0 instantly. Smell is yeasty, with a sweet sidetone. Taste is bitter, sweet. Sugar, yes, but indeed roses, bit red fruits even. Very sugary. Not bad, per se, but way to sweet for me ...

Love the label and name combo. Would have loved to see this in an US-brewery version since I think most belgian beerlabels seem to have been made with microsoftpaint.... Anyways, Pours clear blonde, no real white head. Smell is mildly dry and has some grains. Taste is mildly bitter, with a natural grainy tasteprofile. OK mouthfeel, overcarbonated. Very common kind of beer

Thanks to Kraddel! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ Rampkrot. Bottled on 27/07/2011. Label is in Russian, export product? Hazy citrus, little white. Nose is very sweet & artificial lemon, huge apple juice, artificial old wheat & yeast. Taste is boozy, phenolic, ester rich, artificial lemon & wheat, fizzy, sweet old yeast, very chemical tasting. Body is chemical & carries signs of age. Okay I suppose as an expired soft drink of sorts.
