[Cask at The Falcon (JDW), High Wycombe] Beautiful ruby-chestnut colour with a thick creamy head. Rich and smooth, with fruity caramel up front, but did rather collapse into a mildly bitter and dusty finish. Not as good as first impressions suggested.

Gravity cask at the Stourbridge beer festival. Pours ruby brown with no head. Aroma was sour fruity coffee. Taste didnโt have much to start. Some fruit on the finish with a little coffee on the aftertaste. Watery.

On tap at The Wych Elm in Burntwood, pours bronze. Aroma and flavour of light toasted malt and bitter hops. Smooth, but boring.

Can, 500ml. Pours dark amber with a coat of light beige head. Aroma of caramel, pears and flowers. Thinnish mouthfeel but not that watery considering the 3.5%. Taste is moderately sweet with singed caramel and biscuits, some pears and clear but modest bitterness at the finish. Not bad at all for a pasteurised can.

Cask conditioned, at The Gardeners Arms, Plantation Rd, Oxford, 11.02.11 Pours light amber in colour with a white head, reasonable clarity. This is fairly safe in may respects but itโs good and a big step up from my previous two beers. Fruity with a medium bitterness, nice light hoppiness, tasty beer. A6 A3 T7 P3 Ov13 3.2
