500ml bottle. Pours a deep golden with a small, non-lasting head. Aroma is bready malt. Fruit and biscuity malt to start. Fruity, medium bitter finish. Quite full in the mouth for the low abv. Avoid the can, go for the bottle or better on cask.

50cl bottle. Amber with a scummy looking off-white head; attractive caramel and citrus aroma, with a hint of lime; crisp in the mouth, with a good, light, malt structure, with biscuit, lemon and toffee flavours; then a good burst of fresh English hops before a dry finish. Much better than expected, a solid English ale, worth returning to - unlike our football team.

12th April 2010. Clear gold beer. No head and virtually no carbonation. Sigh! Light dry palate. Aromatic malt with a herbal honey flavour. Some nuts as well. A little bitter hop coming through in the dry finish. Floral as well. A slightly odd beer but it went down fine! This pint was 4.0% abv.
