Good, slightly yellow coloured head over clear yellow beer. Earthy nose, dark green leaves, speaking in fact of a much darker beer! Warm, slightly dried-out malt. Very malty in taste, taking over from the yeast. But there is a welcome hoppy edge, even when a tad metallic. The slightly aged beer (sample only 2 months over BBD) makes this more obvious, thanks to the very beginning of oxydation. There’s still a fresh quality to it, thanks to the however discreet yeast. Spritzy MF, but not fizzy. Quite light in body. I agree with pivnizubs’ notation of apple flavour. I can’t find this bad, even when I’m convinced it must be immeasurably better on draught.

Hopfiger Start, der aber nicht lange hält, der Hopfen knickt schnell ein, einen Ersatz bietet das getreidige Bitteraroma. Das Bier wirkt hier frisch, verharrt aber bei den beschriebenen Aromen und ändert sich kaum, so ist der Mittelteil schnell erzählt, der Hopfen scheint allerdings untergründig wiederzukehren. Im Nachgeschmack verlieren sic alle Aromen schnell, auch der wiederkehrende Hopfen lässt Nichts mehr von sich verlauten. Test vom 4.11.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 13,8,9,7,6,8 - 8,40

Ordentlicher Antrunk, leicht malzig, frisch und mit einem sehr eigenen, dunkelwürzigen Aroma. Fruchtig-frisch mit diesem ominnösen Aroma ist das Bier im Mittelteil, leicht, bestimmt im Sommer gut trinkbar. Im Nachgeschmack kurz malziger und würziger, dann beginnt eine schnelle stetige Abnahme. Etwas eigen. Test vom 22.8.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,9,9,8,5,9 - 8,85

Das milde Weißbier startet leicht hopfig und tritt nicht sonderlich interessant auf. Auch weiterhin wird nicht mit Aromen um sich geschmissen, etwas säuerlich, was sich zum Nachgeschmack verstärkt und das erste Mal ein durchschnittlich starkes Aroma darstellt. Auch die Hefigkeit, anfangs nicht gegeben, steigt vom Mittelteil zum Nachgeschmack stark auf und erscheint im Nachgeschmack fast schon angenehm. Sauer-spritziger Antrunk. Kurz darauf setzt eine herbe Note ein, die fortan nicht mehr weicht. Darunter ist eine leichte Hefigkeit erkennbar, die aber nur kurzzeitig anhält. Herb-spritziger Nachgeschmack. Test vom 7.7.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,8,8,7,5,7 - 7,40

Bottle: Pale golden coloured, visible carbonation, small foamy layer; faint sweetish-grainy nose, other aromas hardly detectable; shy sweetish flavour, watery body, watery MF; short, strawy, papery finish. Another gem from the Eder plant.............

Bottled. Clear, golden, with a small white head. Weak but pleasant aroma with hay, grain and malt, still not worth more than a 4. There’s some alcohol in the flavor, as well as grain, grass and notes of hops. Medium body and a finish with hops and grass. There’s nothing wrong with it, it’s just a bit boring. (070404)

Bottle: Pale golden, very quickly collapsing, almost invisible head; faint grainy, a bit metallic nose with traces of glue; faint bitter-sweet, slightly sourish flavour, quite light bodied; faint sweet-malty finish with an illusion of hops in the aftertaste. A pretty bland brew......
