Description
In 1872 Friedrich Eder, the founder of the brewery, acquired the brewery and restaurant "Zum Ochsen", which has been known since 1779. This was the nucleus of today's brewery in Grossostheim. In the following decades the company grew steadily.
Since 1999 the Schlappeseppel beers are brewed here.

Absolutes Durchschnitts Radler! Test vom 6.4.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,8,12,9,8,8 - 8,75

Bottle. Slightly sour malt aroma with banana and clove as well. Cloudy amber yellow. Mild wheat malt and banana clove flavor - on the watery side. Basically a discount Hefe so really not too bad considering the cost.

A light yellow beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet malty and the flavor is malty with notes of grain.

For those non-Germans in the audience, a Russ is like a Radler except a Weizen beer is used. Aroma is only of the lemonade (Sprite/Mountain Dew). Color light yellow. Flavor primarily of lemon soda with the merest hint of the Weizen. This is a good thirst quencher but not much in the way of beer flavor.

A good middle of the road Weizen - not much of a fruity hint - more grainy. A good choice for those who don’t like fruity Weizens.

A bit lighter than your average Dark Weizen. Nice flavor but not distinctly different from the Helles. A good starter if you’ve never tasted or don’t like Dunkel beers.

The best Kristall Weizen I have ever tasted. Is everything I would expect from this type of beer. Aroma is wheat malt and bananas. Clear golden yellow color. Clean, clear and crisp flavor with banana, peach and wheat flavor. Comparable in taste to even the best Hefes - this beer should be considered the standard that other Kristall Weizens are measured.

Bottled. Pale golden. Stale malt aroma. Medium dry, rather bready, rather bitter. Very indistinct for a german pilsner.
