Odd. It's not undrinkable, but not sure it's works.

Hazy IPA with lactose, made by Anders for the Zythos Bierfestival apparently; 75 cl bottle with crown cap, bottled in mid-April to already seven months old at the time when I got it. Very thick, egg-white, frothy, papery lacing, stable head over a hazy yellowish ‘old gold’ robe with no visible sparkling. Aroma of bath foam, lemon-scented hand soap, cheese spread, fried apples, green banana, cold camomile tea, baking soda, Chinese chrysanthemum tea, green pear, ginger powder. Fruity onset, banana, apricot, touch of lychee, rather sweet with medium carb and soft, fluffy mouthfeel, very doughy – white bready with the expected lactose creaminess, though less so than is often the case in these ‘milkshake IPAs’ (and that to me is not a bad thing at all, to be honest). Bitter flowers and wormwood in the finish along with old citrus peel- and lightly cheesy retronasal hop aromas, but the luscious New World ‘tropicalness’ promised on the label lags far behind – if it is even there at all. What is there to a high extent, is an overall soapiness making it less pleasant in terms of mouthfeel. Too much emphasis on hop bitterness and not nearly enough on tropical ‘new’ hop aromatics, though admittedly seven months is clearly too old for this type of beer anyway, so I will not be too harsh on it. Still, in this form, this is drinkable enough without delivering what it promises, the label made me dream of expressive mango, tropical citrus and passionfruit scents, but I got near to none of those, alas.
