33cl bottle from HopDuvel, BB 27/03/2014.

33 cl bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu, BBE 27.03.2014
Aroma is sweetish with exotic fruits, mango and some resin. Flavour is a bit flat with some fruits, some pine needles and hints of resin. Foamy palate. Needs a stronger body. Good anyway, contains nothing offensive.

Very good white head over very carbonated yellow beer with a slight veil. Rainwater, herbal, pale malts. Taste is faintly sweetish, but especially dull, no real flavour popping up. Spritzy, fizzy, bit agressive carbonation. This is a disaster. Quinces, sweet as they are, have so much flavour, and so does good canesugar. I have tasted beers that had NO quinces, but tasted more of quinces than this does. The result is, pardon my French, p*ss poor. As if they wanted to prove the idea that organic is dull...

Towering creamish-coloured head over light foxy-amber beer. Lightly coloured/ambrée malts, parsley, bread and grassy. Disappointing wortflavours of (too) young beer, still in full fermentation with fermentation byproducts. Toasted malts retronasal. Light to medium bodied, very slick, feels very spritzy. It’s really a meutte(=silly heifer), despite the good nose.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, golden coloured hue with loads of ugly floaties and a dense medium-sized and slightly off-white foamy head. Yeasty, fruity and malty aroma with notes of apricots and a delicately grainy touch. Mildly sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Initially fruit-accented and malty taste with a rising bitterness and dryness towards the mildly fruity and herbal spicy finish. 27.III.12

Ar: 3, Ap: 3, T: 5, P: 3, O: 8, Total: 2.2

Note: the brewer confirmed my suspicion that the beer was much too young actually. The rating will be adjusted in a couple of weeks (months!) when the bottle will have fermented as it should have. Promised! ;-)

Little cloudy pale yellow beer, small creamy white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: very offensive moldy yeast character, yoghurt, cheesy, green banana. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of dairy, whipping cream, white grape skin, herbal, nuts. Aftertaste: little bitter, yeasty, green banana, prunes, not very pleasant. Rerating in 3 months!

Taste: marzipan, cookies, almonds, oxidized, honey, pretty sweet. Aftertaste: hint of citrus, spicy, honey, orange peel. Guess I waited a little too long. Oops!

Medium, bit irregular off-white head over faintly veiled orange beer. Very floral, fruity USA-hops, nice nose, intense but not overpowering. Citrus, marmalade, green tea with orange; dry Hessian hopbales for further aromas. Bitter-fruity, orangezeste, orangemarmalade, tart in the finish; retronasal blue cheese. Again somehow floral. Rather spritzy MF, very refreshing; medium bodied; long-lasting flaovurs. Excellent, surprisingly convincing (for a Belgian) IPA. Super start for "Anders".
