Description
Founded by Andy and Alicia Barr, FiftyFifty is located in Truckee at 11197 Brockway Road, between Hwy 267 and downtown Truckee. Open seven days a week at 11:30am, FiftyFifty serves both lunch and dinner to complement their variety of beers brewed on the premise. FiftyFifty also features a full bar, seasonal outdoor seating.

Draft. Blackish beer with a tan head. Light roast and light chocolate aroma. Dark chocolate flavor with light coffee and caramel. Medium bodied. Chocolate and light coffee lingers.

Draft. Black beer with an off-white head. Chocolate and caramel aroma with bourbon. Bourbon flavor with chocolate and light roast. Medium-plus bodied. Bourbon lingers with caramel and chocoalte. Nice balance.

Draft 2007 vintage at the Bistro’s BA Fest; Nose of chocolate, oak, and vanilla with a light coffee note; very dark clear brown with a small tan head; flavor is peppery, chocolate, oak, and bourbon.

Draft at the Bistro’s BA Fest; Nose of oak, vanilla, chocolate, and dark fruit; clear dark brown with a small off-white head; flavor was oaky vanilla, light mocha, and slight contrasting bitterness and tartness.

Draft at the Bistro’s BA Fest!Nose of oak, dark, plummy, raisiny fruit, and some vanilla; clear brown with very little head, just a ring of bubbles around the edge; flavor was light bitterness and dark fruit.

A dark brown porter with no head, not very carbonated. A pleasant mix of chocolate and British hopping in aroma. In mouth, an excellent mix of toasted bitter chocolate, cold coffee. Rich bodied. On tap at brewpub August 2007.

A clear deep dark brown ale with mahogany hues. A sweet caramel and maple wood in aroma, with vinous overtones. In mouth, burned caramel malt with warm alcohol, absinthe notes. Interesting. On tap at brewpub August 2007.

A golden ale with a thin white head. A very fruity aroma, volatile esters, pineapple, clove cake, warm and enticing. In mouth, a sweet candy sugar with notes of mint, oranges and warming alcohol. Medium bodied. On tap at brewpub August 2007.

A golden ale with a thin white head. Very intense resinous hops in aroma, piney, flowers and caramel candy. In mouth, a sharp hoppy IPA with notes of berries and grapefruits. Simple and good. On tap at brewpub August 2007.
