Description
Brasserie de Silly NV is still family-owned and is now in the hands of the sixth generation of the same family. The company is managed by cousins, Lionel and Bertrand Van der Haegen. Bertrand is responsible for production and Lionel looks after sales. Their parents, brothers Jean-Paul and Didier Van der Haegen are still active Board members. Brasserie de Silly has seen steady growth thanks to export sales and its quality image. Production in 2008 was 1,000,000 litres, but in 2018, 2,500,000 litres are expected to flow out of the tanks. Sales are on the up and up. Belgian beers produced in a traditional way are increasingly popular around the globe.

Bottle from Beerwulf. Aroma is brown malt with caramel, sugar, dried fruits, hint of vegetables and red fruits. Flavour is sweet and syrupy, body is medium. Not what I want to experience when I open a bottle of Saison!

Аромат карамели и немного солода. Вкус слишком приторный, очень сладкий с легкой неприятной горечью. Чувствуется карамель в послевкусие. Но в общем пиво меня разочаровало.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Cloudy gold with impressive white foam which lasts, nice lacing. Aroma of sweet malts, grains, pear skins, grass and spice. Taste is mid-sweet, fruit ester character, with a semi-dry herbal finish. Nice soft carbonation, mid-bodied mouthfeel. Enjoyable tasty Belgium gold.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours a cloudy yellow, with small white misty head which doesn't last. Aroma of coriander, lemon, wheat, sweet malts. Nice but standard. Coriander really comes through in the taste followed by a light tart lemon, quite sweet throughout, dry in the finish with some wheat, cracker and a modest bitterness. Slightly underrated I think, I like it.
