Description
Cross Borders’ origins trace back to an illicit biscuit cartel run by our two founders in primary school. This brewery IS THE RESULT OF YEARS OF friendship, HARD WORK, EXPERIENCE, AND a refusal to grow up. Based in leafy midlothian we brew braw beer you’ll want to drink again and again (responsibly of course).

Bottle from the Dufftown Whisky Fair. It pours muddy red - brown with a tiny off -white head. The aroma is intoxicating peat smoke, bonfire, medicinal, vanilla, dried fruits, fruit cake, brown bread, charred oak, touch if toffee, vanilla fudge and spice. The taste is dry, toothy, chewy, bitter - sweet, brown bread, dried fruits, whisky fruit cake, warming spice, charred oak, peat smoke, Islay whisky, light tannin and vanilla fudge. Medium+ body and fine/light carbonation. Could.be done with a touch mor condition, but I'm really enjoying the heavy peated whisky vibes in this. Barrel aging works well with the base beer.

On keg @ I & G Lothian Road. Appearance - red to amber. Decent lacing. Nose - floral and redcurrant but not getting anything tart. Taste - more of the same really. Something a bit rose water plus some red fruit. Palate - light bodied with gentle bitterness, no sourness to speak of. Overall - it's fine but would not have picked this out as sour in any way.

Can. Bright clear paleish gold beer, small white head. Palate is light, semi dry and has a decent fine crispness. Light malts, just sweet enough. Mild lager tang. The Sabro could have overwhelmed this brew very easily but it hasn't been overdone. Light piney pineapple and a touch of ripe citrus. Light finish. Decent.
