Description
Cross Borders’ origins trace back to an illicit biscuit cartel run by our two founders in primary school. This brewery IS THE RESULT OF YEARS OF friendship, HARD WORK, EXPERIENCE, AND a refusal to grow up. Based in leafy midlothian we brew braw beer you’ll want to drink again and again (responsibly of course).

From tap at Borefts 2019. Aroma is malty and fruity with citrus, pale malt, and orange. More malt in the finish. Mild bittersweet flavour. Medium body. A bit modest, okay.

Must be for the Scottish side of the Cross Border brewery clientele. Traditional ale, called 'Heavy' but is name only, this is pretty easy to drink with malty notes at the Brass Monkey in Edinburgh.

Cask at The Colmore, Birmingham. Clear red to amber, creamy off white head. This one was toasted malts, tangy berries, grains, caramel, slight citric element. It was decent but not wowed.

330ml can. Murky gold-amber, moderate sized fluffy white head which settles to a nice top. Aromas of orange, stone fruits, flora, touch of caramel. Taste is stone fruits and citrus with a moderate bitterness, some resin and tang in the finish. Quite tasty, being a single hop variety it does get slightly samey after a while but its well made.

Tap at Borefts 2019: Hazy dark amber colored brew with an sweet bitter taste, hints of caramel, toasted malts and nuts. Resembles to me Speciale Belge beers from Belgium.
