Description
Cross Borders’ origins trace back to an illicit biscuit cartel run by our two founders in primary school. This brewery IS THE RESULT OF YEARS OF friendship, HARD WORK, EXPERIENCE, AND a refusal to grow up. Based in leafy midlothian we brew braw beer you’ll want to drink again and again (responsibly of course).

Bottle thanks to Stuu666. Appearance - gusher to start with and then deep reddish brown and very autumnal looking. Off-white head. Nose - smoke, bonfire and toffee. Taste - more bonfire and burnt toffee. Sweet whisky booze and wood. Palate - medium bodied, and roasty. Sweet and boozy through the finish. Overall - better than I expected.

Bottle from the Dufftown Whisky Fair. It pours muddy red - brown with a tiny off -white head. The aroma is intoxicating peat smoke, bonfire, medicinal, vanilla, dried fruits, fruit cake, brown bread, charred oak, touch if toffee, vanilla fudge and spice. The taste is dry, toothy, chewy, bitter - sweet, brown bread, dried fruits, whisky fruit cake, warming spice, charred oak, peat smoke, Islay whisky, light tannin and vanilla fudge. Medium+ body and fine/light carbonation. Could.be done with a touch mor condition, but I'm really enjoying the heavy peated whisky vibes in this. Barrel aging works well with the base beer.
