Craft Angel. Dan's 10K boostfest. Thanks to Dave. Light haze on this gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Soft sweetish malts. Little cream. Good hops, limey pine and a little spice. Mild citric peel. Light finish. Easy drinking.

Half pint on tap at Basement Brewhouse, Bankstown. Light fresh nose of lime. Pale amber beer with thin white head. Nice lacing. High carbonation. Earthy spritzy taste. Alcohol, fruit and earthy wood in the finish. Not enough lime to be a crisis.

From a 640ml bottle on 18/2/2018 (shared by Butz, with thanks). Pours a slightly cloudy golden with a small head. Has a very sweet aroma, with malt and fruit prevalent. The flavour also begins sweet, with peach and ripe apricot notes, but the lime and salt then kicks in to give it some bite at the back, followed by a moderate hop bitterness. Fullish body with moderate carbonation. A pleasant, well made, and reasonably distinctive IIPA.

Bottle. Pretty much clear gold with a white head. Aroma of grapefruit, lime (you would guess fruit, but it doesn't scream it) honeyed biscuit. Sweet with a lovely silky texture (a feature of many MG beers right from the start) and lowish carbonation. Lots of moody citrus, only a little is punchily zesty. The lime and salt along with fairly high bitterness deliver an unusual and quite savoury finish. There is a creeping alcohol presence but there's no heat. Nice to have a hoppy + fruit beer where thought has been put into how it's going to work.

Tap at the Royston Hotel, Melbourne. 6.3%. Poured a murky dark brown with a frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty light caramel malt, dry coffee, liqouirce, chocolate. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter with a dry roasty cofee liqouirce hop bitter, slightly oily palate and a lingering liqouirce bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Handpump at the brewery. Poured a clear dark brown with a big frothy light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, coffee, light chocolate. The flavour is moderate to light sweet with a smooth rich, dry roasty chewy malt, liqouirce dry woody hop bitter palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Not really what I expected. I hoped for sweet cocoa, coffee vanilla but it wasn’t quite there. There was some coffee and minor sweetness but the finish was a little unpleasant. Not one I would order a second time sadly.
