Completely unexpected find - 0.5l can, Indian alcohol store in KL. Fairly sure it shouldn't have had it, but I'll be the last one to complain. Shared with Hrabren and Ogi. Pitch black body, off-white head. Dry sweetish perfumey leathery aroma, some licorice. Dry taste, licorice and raisins, mildly leathery, odd tobaccoish finish. Lean but hard to drink, the finish kills it in the end sadly, almost leans on vaguely phenolic and dull. Oh well. Really glad I caught it!

0.5 l can thanks to Marko who brought it from Malaysia, shared with Ogi and him. Dark brown to black, small tan head. Intense dried fruit and soy sauce aroma, candy, molasses, alcohol and roasty. Flavour is roasty and cardboard, charred wood. Smooth but creamy and a bit tiring. Sweet. Roasty finish.

330ml can from Benny’s place. Poured a crystal clear golden colour with a thin broken white head and plenty of bubbles. The aroma is light corn. The flavour is moderate to light bitter and sweet, with a watery, corn, light herbal, light cardboard, watery light hop bitter palate. Light bodied with average carbonation. You have to wonder if the brewer was proud of his achievements as he watched this beer leave the brewery. This is more about marketing than taste. If only the macro brewers brewed something half decent they could take over the beer world.

Can from the place by Pasar Seni. Clear golden body, off-white head. Odd pistachio, malt and alcohol aroma. Dry, dusty, ugly weirdly pistachioish taste battered by alcohol. Damn, just no.

0.33l can, Royal Stout 5.5%, brewed in Malaysia. From a store in Brickfields, KL. Pitch black, tan head. Heavy caramel, treacle, dried figs, raisins, light roast, tobacco, serious aroma. Dry taste, lean, bit leathery, raisiny and roasty-ashy. Smoked plums! Bit lighter than expected but, ending vaguely bitterish and roasty, but drinkable. Ye, jmgreenuk's right, this might as well be usually the best easily obtainable macro in Malaysia.

330ml can from Village Grocer, Avenue K, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a crystal clear golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head and plenty of bubbles. The aroma is corn, bready. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a crisp, corn, cardboard, light herbal, hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Quite sickly if I’m honest. I could not drink a second can.
