(Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 4 Aug) Colour is golden yellow, with hints of amber, foamy white head. Nose is fruity with lemon and grapefruit. Hints of smoke? Taste is fruity with pineapple, lemon and a slightly soapy, grassy hop bitterness in the finish. Nice and tasty.

(Cask at Market Porter, Borough, London, 31 July) Colour is pale amber with frothy head. Nose is fruity with grapefruit, lemon and a distinct citrussy hop aroma. Taste is fruity with grapefruit and lemon, seriously hoppy with a slightly soapy character. Long, hoppy finish. Rather single-tracked and not really complex, but a hop heads delight. Excellent!

Bottle. Pours like a quart of motor oil and has a thick, mocha colored head with sticky lacing. Aroma has hints of licorice, raisins, and molasses, very earthy. Flavor has the same qualities with a little bit of chocolate in the back end. Has some smoked, roasty notes in there as well.
