Bottle. Gold with a modest white head. Aroma of mandarins and grilled oranges, light biscuit. 7+ (but it's a little shy) Sweet at first with light bread and biscuit, peach and mandarin. Then some lime, spices and then pine resin come through towards a fairly bitter finish. The mix of bitter and sweet citrus lingers. Very clean, almost austere at the end. Pretty good but a bit aloof for a Two Birds beer.

Bottle. Yep, bright copper with a beige head that fades to a coat but never disappears. Aroma of toast, sticky spiced bun, floaty floral notes. Barely medium bodied, clean - almost thought lager for a moment. Fairly rich malt but with modest sweetness. Rye spiciness yields at some point to hoppy floral and spicy notes at a finish I wished were a little more bitter. More depth (and possibly a 3rd layer to the name) as you drink.

Pint on tap at The Local Taphouse, Sydney. Golden amber beer with thin white head. Light carbonation. Nose is lemon with light touches of earthy grass. Nice lacing. Zingy, earthy, bitter at first. Finish is lingering bitter lemon. Quite adult, like a cross between a lager and an APA.

Can. Gold with a loose white head. Aroma of grass, biscuit, vague citrus. Gutsy with what is mainly the illusion of richness, a little Czech-style caramelisation, then grassy and slightly peppery towards the reasonably bitter (but not dry dry) end. Canny.

Bottle, 5.8% ABV. Clear deep gold with a white head. Aroma of kumquat, passionfruit and pine with a biscuity background. Dryish with citrus and resiny hops bossing the show perhaps a little more than suggested by the aroma. Finish is drier still and firmly bitter. Pretty punchy for under 6%.
