Description
Renaissance brewing was established in 2005 when experienced brewers Andy Deuchars and Brian Thiel purchased the lease on the historic Grove Mill in Blenheim. Andy and Brian, both natives of Southern California, had one goal in mind - to produce stunning beers in a region more renowned for the excellence of its wines. We are committed to using local ingredients and are one of the pioneers of craft brewing in New Zealand.

500mL bottle, pours a cloudy orange amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out resinous hops, citrus, caramel and stone fruits. Flavour is very malty, with lots of caramel upfront, resinous hops, residual sugar, and citrus. Citrusy, astringent and malty sweet on the finish. A little too malty for a IIPA, but it's alright.

Tasting at Matt’s; bbd May 2016, L490
Cloudy light amber color. Some smell of apples, light residual sweetness, uninteresting malts, light fruity touch, some abrasive resins. Controversial, not so good.

500mL bottle, pours a cloudy opaque orange amber with a small white head. Aroma is very fruity, with lots of stone fruits and tropical fruity hops. Flavour is big on the berry fruitiness, with fairly abrasive citrus hops and tropical fruitiness. Not particularly complex and a tad abrasive, but it works well together. Very nice.
