Pours a hazy yellow. Aroma is hops and the flavor is a grassy hoppy mix. Nice taste but a bit thick for a pilsner.

Sampled draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm.
Clear pale amber, small head. Sweaty, fruity hoppy nose. Very dry. Clean, hard mouthfeel. Just loads of hops. The malt profile is plain and simple, but the hops creates all kinds of sensations: grassy- herbal, salty licorice, fruity grapefruit. Very bitter finish, of course.

[Vintage 2002] A red beer with no head. Both the flavor and aroma is sweet and dominated by cowberries.

Pours a copper color with alomst no head. No real aroma and flavor is typical pale ale. Hops with some roasted malts in there. Ok but I still think this brew is SNPA minus more intense flavor.

This is a rather nice interpretation of the Belgian Golden Ale style and one of my favorite North Coast beers. Sadly this one was absent from our market for a number of years but it is making a reappearance +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a light bronze color with a small tan head. There is a moderate sweet sugar, breadyand lightly fruity aroma. The flavor is a mix of sweet, sour and vague spice with moderate notes of ripe golden fruits and sugar. Medium length fruit and sugar finish. Fairly full bodied. All in all an excellent beer.

This year’s is every bit as good as the last one I had. Deep brownish-red color with a very thin beige head. Very thin lacing too. Rich aroma of caramel, malt and fruit. Full-bodied with hearty malt, caramel and nut flavors. Roasty character with the alcohol peeking through periodically. The finish is long and sweet, with a nice hops bite. Another winner!

Golden-bronze colour. Lemony, piney aroma. Very bitter body, with woody notes and lots of toastiness. Long, bitter finish. Unbalanced. I can understand why North Coast wants to give this a different brand - it's not up to their standards at all.

Hazy dark amber coloured body with a frothy light tan head. Aroma of nuts, malt, slight hops and some caramel. Light-bodied; Sour-vinegary flavour with a bit of nuts and hops up front. Aftertaste light and acidic, not bitter at all. Overall, a brown that doesn't show enough roasty characteristics, but not the worst beer ever! I bought this twelve ounce bottle at Beers of the World in Rochester, New York and sampled it on 12-March-2004.

Copper coloured body with a smallish white head. Aroma of pacific northwest hops with some mild maltiness. Light to Medium-bodied; Fair taste, somewhat hoppy, but mostly malty. Aftertaste not strong and a bit too sweet. Overall, a sub-par APA...nice to try here in upstate new york, however! I bought this twelve ounce bottle at Beers of the World in Rochester, New York.

Very cloudy brown, short lived tan head.Interesting fruity malt nose.Sweet smooth blended malt taste.Medium to strong alcohol heat Rather flat. As with most barleywines, the alcohol heat overpowers the taste, and I don’t like that style. Thanks to Cap Flu Note-06 version is rather unblended, maybe needs aging?
