Hazy amber. Very juicy, with a nice balancing mellow bitterness. Juicy finish.

Cloudy, chestnut. Has a banana nose with some toasty malts. Palate is balanced towards the sweetish, with light banana, pear and toast. Ok.

Amber, bright and a toasty aroma. The palate starts dry, with light toastiness but also some diacetyl. The finish is mostly diacetyl.

Draught at Big Rock Urban Brewery, Vancouver
Murky blond color with large head. I almost don’t get any aroma, just some light smoke. Very low carbonation; the three elements (smoke myrrh and frankincense) combine in a delicate manner, don’t expect too much of it, actually the smoke is a bit more prominent, the myrrh is noticeable, the frankincense not; low bitterness, short final.
I feared the worst, but it’s actually drinkable.

Dark brown color. The aroma is loaded with fudge. Nice soft body, some chocolate flavor, very light touch of berries, and a bit of butter also in the end.
It may be a decent beer, but it seems to have some diacetyl.

On tap. Pours a hazy dark Amber with moderate head. Aromas of fruity esters, rubber, and dark Christmas spice. Flavors follow same with additional dry coriander and Belgian yeast. Much more of a Belgian than an IPA. Nice.

On tap at Big Rock Urban, pours black with a reddish tinge and a small tan head. Aroma brings out lots of red berries upfront, followed by roasted malt. Flavour is dominated by the berries, which create an almost jammy character without imparting sweetness. Just a touch of roast to back things up, absolutely no hoppy bitterness detectable. Very nice for what it is.

On tap at Big Rock Urban, pours a hazy dark golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out a good balance of Belgian yeast and citrus hops. Flavour is quite spicy, with lots of Belgian yeast upfront creating a pronounced spiciness, followed by coriander and orange peel, and ending with fairly astringent citrus hoppiness. Well-balanced and the coriander / orange peel is incorporated really well. Not subtle at all but that's a refreshing change in this unambitious local scene. Very good.

On nitro tap at Big Rock Urban, pours a cloudy creamy blonde with a medium white head. Aroma is pretty subtle, with cereal malts and not much else. Flavour is a little more forward, with smoke upfront and cereal notes in back. A little grainy sweet on the finish too. Not a fan of this.

650 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with light head. Aromas of blueberries, coffee, and roasted malts. Flavors of sweet dark berries and roasted malts. Lots of scrubbing carbonation. A nice dark fruity beer that is easy to drink. Nothing wrong here. Sweet for a porter but very nice for the ABV.
