Description
10 Barrel Brewing was founded by three fellas in Bend, Oregon in 2006 who wanted to brew beer, drink beer and have a ton of fun while doing so. 10 years later and we're still following suit. Whether we're shredding the mountain, drinking cold ones by the fire after work or floating down the river. We always have fun with a beer in hand.

Winter strong ale aged on Tequila soaked wood chips 8% Hazy brown with a full and lasting tan head. Malty aroma with some spice and slight wood aged notes. Faint spirits/tequila touch. Big and malty flavor, plenty if IBUs but not an IPA, a mild barley wine maybe. This was a 1keg only release per 10barrelboise’s Facebook post and is not in their beer menu for more detailed information. ABV is per the post but style is just a guess.

Bomber bought at Super 1 in Rathdrum, ID. This bottle reads 7% ABV. Aroma is doughy, dark fruit, roasty. Pours cloudy brown with a thin beige head with decent retention. Taste is roasty, sweet and malty with a little bitterness in the finish. Caramel and toffee flavors. Average winter warmer, good but nothing special.

Bomber bought at Super 1 in Rathdrum, ID. Aroma is kind of stinky! It kind of smells like old socks along with faint grapefruit and vegetal offnotes. Pours hazy cantaloupe with a long-sustaining white head that leaves lace. Taste is not as bad as the aroma, but it’s a really basic IPA profile. Weird.

Somewhat subdued, after trying IPAs. Pale golden in color with thin white head. Leans towards a watery mouthfeel, malt, floral notes dominate.

Enjoying the ryes here in the NW, they are much more sour in Europe. Nice dunkel and weizen elements, with some amber ale overtones. Pretty good.

Dark and delicious, black with beige head. Hoopy aroma blends well with roast grains, mellow finish. Nice.

Nice IPA, right amounts of hop bitterness, but still smooth enough to enjoy. SLight lingering on the palate, but not overpowering. Amber with beige head, normal IPA nose. Re-rate 10/10/17. Bumped down a few based on more experience with the style

Meh! Not sure what this was supposed to be, boring and unexciting. Bland too. Pass on this one.

Another decent, but unremarkable beer (you don’t hit a home run every time). Amber in color (duh!) with weak aroma and taste, mostly roast grains, tends towards a watery mouthfeel.

Germans drink this flavored, so it seems wierd to me that the Americans drink it straight. Biting tartness and carbonation are there as needed, soem grain notes with lots of citrusy aroma and taste too. Just wish they’d serve some syrup with it.....
