Really little bit of head. Brass colored I would say. Slightly fruity aroma, but I couldn’t really specify. A sort of weird taste for a wheat beer. There seemed to be a little bit of roasted flavors in there. The fruit flavors were not that strong according to my palate, but hey I don’t know what that makes me. One of my friends said that it tastes like a dark beer... and in a weird little way, he is kind of right.

Pretty dark, but not all the way black... little reddish tint in it. The head is a little on the tan side. Smoky and roasty aroma, with some chocolate. Smoky and roasted coffee flavors with a little bitterness on the side.

Pours with a tannish head that disappears really fast. Reddish brown color. Smoky fruits in the nose. Some malts in the taste along with some smokiness and some fruitiness as well. Taste is really toasted/roasted (not sure which one it is). Not a bad beer... a little different from the standard Irish Ale.

bottle as Moling’s Traditional Red Ale - Pours dark read with a thin head. The aroma is of caramel malt and a little dark fruit. The flavor is of toasty caramel malts and mild fruitiness with just a little hops. It didn’t exactly blow me away and could have used some more hops bite, but I actually enjoyed it quite a bit.

Cask-conditioned at the Cornubia, Bristol 17/07/07. Black coloured with a decent tan head. Aroma of bitter chocolate with some roasted notes. Very smooth to drink with more chocolate and coffee flavours and a long, dry finish. Very good.

Bottled(330ml). -Dark amber coloured, medium size beige head. I had a coid so I couldn’t detect the nose. The aroma is toasted malt and slight caramel with notes of bread and nuts. Mild sweet finish.

Bottle. Poured a nice dark red body with a medium sized beige head that went away at a medium pace. The nose is caramel in its entirety. Mild taste, subdued bready maltiness, weak weak caramel. Very low hoppy bitterness that forms a stump of an aftertaste. Watery. 10.4° and it sure shows. Somewhat pleasant, very drinkable and extremely average. Manages to be nearly as dull as the nitro wasteland that is so damn common in Irish beers. Either my tastebuds are oblivious to the subtle nuances of beers belonging to this style or this one’s close to a trainwreck. Granted, not as huge one as Kilkenny’s, but closer than it has any right to be.

0.5l draught (nitro I believe) at Tolkien’s in Zagreb Black colour, perfect brownish little to medium sized nitro head that lasted until the end. Pleasant sweetish caramelly nose, reminiscent of a Twix bar with hints of dust. Typical nitro smooth taste. Underlying weak caramel and cappuccino taste meets some hoppy (I guess) bitterness and acidity (that seems to be common in nitro brews from my experience). Looooong acidic/roasty aftertaste. A decent nitro stout that, while having most if not all the flaws imparted by that way of serving, still retains some of its former complexity. I’ll rerate it when I get a bottle.

12 oz brown bottle but mine says O’Hara’s Irish Stout, I think this is the same stuff. Pours extremely dark and is opaque for the most part. Has a delicious rootbeer roasty aroma. At first I was alarmed because it made me reminisce about a terrible foreign stout I had once. However, once I got over that, It felt pretty chocolaty good on the olfactory. The taste is less sweet than the aroma, definitely some roastiness in the flavors. There is some chocolate in there but it is dry unsweetened chocolate, not semi-sweet, more like baking chocolate. Very nice medium low carbonation tingle. A bitterness builds on the back of the throat as you consume more. Not as good as Tröegs Oatmeal Stout. Much better than Mendicino and Guinness Draught. On par with Hereford & Hops Cashel Bay Stout and Sly Fox OReillys Stout. Overall a pretty decent entry for the non offensive dark beer market.

Bottle at The Rake, Borough Market. Gold colour with thin white head. Citrus beer, over carbonated. Some fullness. Some floweryness. Floral hop aroma isn’t bad. Too carbonated though. Nice hop on finish.
