Description
We are an artisan brewery located 30 miles northeast of San Francisco in Concord, CA. Our brewery lies at the confluence of the mighty Sacramento river and majestic Mt. Diablo. Our name comes from the Black Diamond (coal) Mines, 8 miles east of the brewery. Here in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, nearly 4 million tons of “black diamonds” were removed from the local hills.

Bottle. Golden pour. Aroma and taste of malt mostly, with some caramel, bitter grassyness and pine. No mosaic around. Bit old and should not have been served anymore by the bar.

Vintage bottle bb July 2015. Mahogany color big yellowish beige head, persistent. Aroma is mostly hoppy, burned malts, a bit fruity, woody tones. Taste balanced, intense bitter. A bit dull but maybe because it's old, a good ale.

Bottle to pint glass, pours a clear golden color with a thick finger of creamy beige head. Lots of sticky lacing throughout. Ripe aroma of citrus and tropical fruits, piney and dank. Sweet taste with minimal bitters. Citrus and sweet malt flavors, a little grassy.

Mildly bitter and slightly sweet flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly cara-malty base with piney and mainly citric hops, getting slightly grassy towards the bitter-sweet finish. 17.VII.17
