Description
Hey! Welcome to Urban Roots.
We’re here because we love people and beer.

We wanted to make beer and create a space to show that love to the world. Our place has plenty of room for people to hang out and enjoy one another, some super fresh beer and some really tasty food.
Urban Roots started when Rob and Peter decided it was time to open the brewery they’d been dreaming of for a long long time. They wanted a place where they could express their love for the industry they’ve been a part of for so long. With Urban Roots they hope to pay homage to all of the wonderful people they have met on their journey. People that showed them amazing beer and maybe more importantly showed them a good time.

Can. Pours hazy amber in color with a small beige head and some lacing. Aroma of toffee, caramel, butterscotch, bourbon, werthers, vanilla. Flavor is quite sweet, light plus bitter, a bit hot. Sticky, decadent, yet balanced. Merlin body, soft mouthfeel, lingering werthers and booze. Grate.

On tap at Gourmet Haus. A lot of funk on this beer and touch to find the right category for it....but the brewer calls it a Saison. Very tart with the Brett and Lacto showing prominently. Hazy deep yellow with white head. Complex and interesting with spicy esters throughout.

Waxed 375 from Corti Bros. Pours clear, darkish mahogany with a transient beige head. Aroma of cherry, raisin, plum and maybe other dark fruits over a moderately toasty malt base. Flavor is very, very nice - matching the aroma with the addition of Demerara sugar. Not dry. Not bitter. But incredibly tasty. Excellent quad.

From Beer Drop. Canned July 8th.

It pours a clear straw gold with a good head of foam that lasts leaving lacing behind.

Aromatic nose of dry hopping, noble like, some bready notes.

Dry hop, noble hop like bitterness, dryness, crisp, some notes of bread. Superb drinkable.

Medium body, good healthy carbonation.

This is quite excellent and pleasing.

Pint can - labeled as an oak-aged maibock - hazy medium gold - creamy texture - not as sweet as many examples of the style, but the malt richness you expect is still present - moderate herbal bitterness, slight mineral quality, moderate oak on the back end - decent.

Wax-dipped 375ml bottle - dark ruby pour - complex nose of fig, treacle, molasses, raisin, oak, whiskey - surprisingly well-masked alcohol - deep caramelized sugars, treacle, dark fruit, sherry, plum, fig - moderate whiskey, but not boozy - I really liked the last barleywine I had from these folks, and this is no different - well done!
