Thanks heavy for bringing this from Wien, shared with him and ogivlado. Full golden body, small white head. Full creamy, slightly sickly malty aroma, sharp, odd, alcohol, oil. Empty taste, vague malt, vague vegetables, bitter, mild finish. Strange creamy, dusty taste. Full, but unappealing.

Bottle shared by me. Clear golden with short lasting white head. Caramel, white beans, cane sugar, bread, light leafy vegetables, soft herbal hops. Medium sweet with soft bitter finish. Under medium bodied. Not super bland but the taste there is is not really that great. Still a decent pale lager though.

Bunna Cafe, Brooklyn bottle: pours pale gold with a white head. Aroma is light grain and sugar. Taste is pretty standard lager with a slight off taste at the end. Not the best Ethiopian beer I have had.

33cl bottle pours with a clear gold body that supports an off white head. The aroma swells with sweet pear and apple candy blended with an odd somehow earthy undefinable “stuff” sort of sensation. Hmm. The taste is similar with a mild meat like odd earthiness blended into sweet apple and pear sweet fruitiness creating a flavor that isn’t all that inviting. It then becomes more cereal like to midway and into the finish and tries in vein to turn this thing around with more “beer” notes but in the end the cereal notes fail to do so.

This one is pretty rough, even on Ethiopian standards. A little too much of that sour mash malt finish on this. The St. George’s was a much better choice next to this. Bottle at Zenebech’s with some excellent food that somehow made it alright.

Clear medium golden colour, small frothy white head, recedes after a while, fair lacing. Aroma sweet malty, corn, vanilla, banana, hay. Flavour medium sweet and slightly bitter, grainy. Mild dry bittersweet finish, spicy notes; overall a surprisingly nice lager, goes well with Ethiopian food.
