Bottle at M-Café, Leuven. Aroma of spicy yeast, ripe fruits, apricot, a little farmhouse funk, herbal notes, a hint of vegetables, light malt. Flavour is moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Body is medium, lively carbonation. Enjoyable ultra-Belgian Saison with a big farmhouse character.

Stable, huge tan head over virtually black beer. Roasty, but also minty nose. Roast malts, mineral, but the herbs keep returning. Sweet, ashy, roast. Herbs less prominent in the mouth. Rather dry finish. Quite sticky MF despite the dry character. Very well-carbonated. OK, but the herbs (mint?) are a tad annoying, especially in the nose. Txs to Stef!

Tap at de Coureur. Moderate warmth, pleasant. Med-full body, med-high carbonation. Lots of chocolate amd dried fruits, rather subtle spicy yeastiness. Feels sophisticated, rewarding. Pretty tasty, quite good.

33cl Fles bij De Kluizenaar. Mistig goudgele kleur, witte kraag. Zoet-kruidige geur, moutig, fruitig, appels, banaan, degelijk bitter, niet heel droog. Volle body. Te zoet en kruidig voor mijn smaak, wat wel vaker het geval is bij hedendaagse 'saisons'. Meer een standaard sterk en kruidig Belgisch Blond dan een Saison wat mij betreft.

33cl bottle from ABS Drinks near Herent. Foam is big, tanned, almost good retention. Colour is black, opaque. Aroma mostly roasted tones, dark malts, cocoa, chocolate, bit coffee, dark dried fruits, bit vanilla. Taste is full malty base, chocolate, roasted tones, coffee, dark dried fruits, bit herbal, cocoa touch, peat touch, soft to medium carbonation, cross hybrid of Stout and Saison, enjoyed.

Bottle at Firkin Alehouse Folkestone. black beer lasting tan head. some herb saison . some dark malt. it's oily tarry. dark chocolate. it's. ok. more a dark Belgian beer. the dark chocolate I quite like.
