Pint can from Sam's Quik Shop. Pours gold, hazy, off-white head. Aroma is citrus peel, light trash water. Flavor is tangy tangerine, lemon zest... kinda plain. Average at best.

Draught at Dok Brewing Company, a remainder of their San Diego-themed evening last weekend; sour ale with pineapple by this fairly renowned San Diego brewery. Snow white, quickly thinning and opening, moussy 'ring' lacing in shreds over a pale hazy straw blonde beer with olive greenish hue. Aroma strongly reminiscent of little 'Zwan' sausages and the liquid they are conserved in, as well as the liquid from a jar of sweet pickled gherkins, but pineapple (as in: canned pineapple slices) pierces through as well, next to notes of apple vinegar, pickled lemons, tomato juice, green apple, lemon zest, sourdough, vague Sauerkraut. Puckering acidic onset, pickled lemons and pickled pineapple if such a thing exists, apple vinegar, gherkins, soapy wheat base largely dried by ongoing sourness; very strong effect of the 'juice' from a jar of pickled gherkins in the end, again with the sweet pineapple piercing through but not quite winning from it; ends dryingly acidic but not harshly burning, softening down in the end as it were, with a soapy and chalky note to it. Almost fruited Berliner Weisse-like, with its relatively 'simple' sourness, but drinkable, even if the pineapple is a bit overshadowed by vinegary effects. Still, as usual with this kind of beers, I am left wondering how 'saison' became synonymous with 'sour ale' in the Anglo-Saxon craft beer world...

Pint can pours with a clear pure gold body that supports a thin white head of foam. The aroma offers up sweet pears, pale malts and then a modest level of noble hops. The taste delivers similar notes with sweet pale malts and sweet light skin fruity esters. To midway it picks up some sweet lime and floral hoppiness. Nice Blonde Ale.

Pint can pours with a near clear deep gold body that has a thin copper core and supports an off white head of foam. The aroma offers up an inviting blend of spicy onion like hops, mango, cantaloupe and guava. The taste delivers juicy citrus and soft sweet juicy cantaloupe and guava to start. It then quickly picks up spicy bitter onion and grapefruit. Tasty stuff.

Pours unclear blonde. Small white head. Smell is weak, rather creamy. Taste is sharp. Bit fruity ( very mild stone fruit. Some orange style hops as well) pretty nice.

Pours unclear blonde yellow. Small white head. Smell is tropical ( pineapple). Taste is somewhat stone fruit, creamy, rather bitter for the style. Milder tropical ( pineapple). To much stone fruit to me.

Draft at Golden Crust in PA. A bit of tea caught up in a sour and fruit beer. Tartness persists throughout flavor and aftertaste. Lemony finish. A bit simple but works. 737315
